An academic scholar, professor of law at Leeds and Lancaster Universities and later at the Oxfor University, M. Mucius Scaevola Magister was one of the foudning citizens of Nova Roma, and the first British citizen. He was also the first British to hold a magistracy and the first British senator of Nova Roma.

M. Scaevola was one of the foremost iuris periti of his time, and gave opinions on many matters of public law, in particular during his praetorship at the time of the legal uncertainties of the First "Civil War" of Nova Roma, in which he was caught up, and the subsequent dictatura.

  1. ↑ There is some doubt surrounding M. Scaevola's election to this office. The announcement of results indicates that the election was tied between Scaevola and Q. Iulius Camillus Caesar; if so, neither was elected. In that case, however, there ought to have been a further election, but no such election is recorded, and Scaevola is to be found later that year performing the duties of rogator. It seems, then, that he did obtain the office, but it remains unclear how he did so.
