History of the Nova Roman province of America Noveboracensis et Mediatlantica

One of the original, starting provinces of Nova Roma, it was called Mediatlantica and originally it consisted of States of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In the year of his sole consulship L. Sulla (III) cos. sine collega MMDCCLXVI a.u.c. (2013), L. Sulla divided it into different provinces. Mediatlantica became restricted to only two States, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The other parts of the former territory of Mediatlantica became new provinces: the States of New York and New Jersey become America Noveborancesis, Maryland and the District of Columbia became Columbia, and Virginia became Virginia, and it also acquired the territory of West Virginia.

All of these provinces, Mediatlantica, America Noveboracensis, Columbia and Virginia were united in Q. Arrio (II) T. Domitio (III) cos. MMDCCLXXIII a.u.c. (2020), so the original territory was completely restored, plus West Virginia in an addition due to Provincia Virginia.

America Noveboracensis et Mediatlantica is considered one and the same province as the original Mediatlantica, and as the continuation of the provinces America Noveboracensis, Columbia and Virginia.
