Legio IV Urbana (Nova Roma)
The Legio IV Urbana of Provincia Australia is an Allied Military Reenactment Unit of Nova Roma. Legio IV was proclaimed a partner of Nova Roma on a.d. XVIII Kal. Sept. ‡ P. Aurelio C. Flavio cos. ‡ MMDCCLXXVIII a.u.c. by Provincia Australia governor, D. Aurelius Ingeniarius, under Edictum praetorium de societate cum legione IV Urbana.
Legio IV, or more commonly, the 4th Urban Legion, is a detachment of Mare Nostrvm, an association of reenactors based in Brisbane, Australia.
The partnership with Legio IV is documented within the Memorandum of Understanding between Nova Roma and Mare Nostrvm.

Command
The ceremonial supreme commanders of all legions within Nova Roma are the consules of Nova Roma, and the praetores are the vice-supreme commanders. The provincial ceremonial commander-in-chief of the Legio II Augusta (and all other legionary units in Provincia Australia), is the governor of Provincia Australia, the praetor D. Aurelius Ingeniarius.
The actual commander of the allied Legio IV Urbana, as the highest-ranking officer within the legion, the Optio Decimus Arminius Brutus. He exercises command in conjunction with his subordinate operational commanders.
