An exemption to this law may be granted to a person by the approval of both [[censores (Nova Roma)|censors]] and a [[:Category:Senatus consulta (Nova Roma)|''senatus consultum'']] approved by a two-thirds majority vote. Such an exemption must be sought prior to the official start of the election in question, and must be granted in order to participate as a formal candidate in the election process. A failure to act on the question of an exemption shall not constitute a tacit approval of the exemption.
