The Canadian Roman Republic (officially the "Roman Republic Cultural Group" Not-for-profit Corporation), "RR" for short, was founded in Cn. Lentulo Alexandro T. Domitio cos. MMDCCLXIX a.u.c. as the result of the Coup d'état of Caesar and Sulla, by the Canadian P. Iunius Brutus who was knwon as P. Claudius Caecus before that time. As the so called Third "Civil War" of Nova Roma was launched against the lawful institutions of Nova Roma out of Canada, by the leader of the Canadian Roman community Cn. Iulius Caesar, Nova Roma conducted a two-fold campaign regarding Roman revivalism residing in Canada during the years of this conflict: one in order to stop Caesar who caused the creation of the Res Publica Canadana Romana, and another for the sake of the restoring of the Res Publica Canadana Romana back to Nova Roma, the existence of which was directly linked and connected with the existence of Caesar and his factional army of supporters. The relationship between the Res Publica Canadana Romana and Nova Roma varied, and was at times tense, because part of the leadership of RR insisted that due to the hardships caused by Caesar's coup Nova Roma should give up, dissolve, and merge with "RR". Although the two organizations made a treaty of amicitia in Sex. Lucilio C. Claudio P. Annaeo Q. Catulo tr. mil. cos. pot. MMDCCLXX a.u.c., due to these voices, there was atmosphere of slight rivalry, and the leaders of the struggle for saving Nova Roma (who fought to save Nova Roma from the so called "coup" and "civil war") found themselves in a two-front war, and both being headquartered in Canada.

After the victory of Nova Roma against the Canadian wing of the Coup Faction, the Res Publica Canadana Romana, upon the initiative of P. Brutus, agreed to be merged into Nova Roma, where they continue living Romanitas and Roman reconstructionism. The defeat of Caesar and the reconciliation with the Res Publica Canadana Romana made Nova Roma again the only organization for Roman restorationism in Canada. This incorporation of the Res Publica Canadana Romana into Nova Roma as a municipium was decreed by the senate to be celebrated as part of the triumph that will celebrate the overcoming of the difficulties of Nova Roma in Provincia Canada. The triumph and official celebrations are still pending as of July, C. Cethego Q. Arrio (IV) cos. MMDCCLXXVI a.u.c..

Nova Roma accredits and recognizes the past work and achievements of the citizens of the Canadian Roman res publica, the leading members of which also received various awards and accolades for facilitating the merger.

After the victory and merger, Canada has been reorganized, and the first new governor became P. Iunius Brutus in recognition for his service in the merger.
