Just for my own curiousity, did we want this particular page (and those which come after) to resemble the ancient Fasti, or do we want a more modern view? That is to say, for example, in (some of) the ancient Fasti, all the days of the Feriae Marti would have some annotation, while in a more modern view, we convey the same information by noting on its first day that it lasts until 24 Mar.

Similarly, for the nundinae, it may be more aesthetically pleasing to perhaps use a different color or something, rather than list it every eight days as though it were something of a festival. It's my opinion, so I certainly defer to the majority, but I put it here for others to ponder, as they so choose. Metellus 16:21, 4 January 2007 (CET)

We can't use color alone, as we have to consider that some visually impaired users will use screen readers. In addition, this sort of page should be printable even on monochrome printers, so the text should stay even if the background is tinted. Tinting the backgrounds of every 9th row is a bit of work, and it makes an even bigger bit of work next year, when this page could be the basis for next year's fasti. It is also good to have more links rather than fewer, since this page has an educational purpose, in addition to the informational purpose of the ancient fasti. I see no reason not to repeat the entries for the longer observances. I did it the way I did to save time. In any event, the reason for doing so should primarily be one of utility, not simply because the Romans did their fasti that way. Agricola 02:42, 5 January 2007 (CET)
Those are good points, none of which came into my mind. If you don't mind then, I'll get to the work of listing some of the longer feriae. In thinking about those who use screen readers, it might be a little easier to hear it every day, rather than to have to remember how long a festival lasts. Cura, mi Amice! Sounds good. Agricola 10:11, 5 January 2007 (CET)

Nundinae

I think I have all the C, N and EN nundina changed over to F, leaving the old natura in brackets. It needs checking though. Agricola 10:11, 5 January 2007 (CET)

I'll get right to that! Q·CAEC·MET·POST 20:58, 6 January 2007 (CET)

Other Events

I think we should also use this calendar to link to other kinds of scheduled events, the Conventus, for example. Comments? Agricola 11:45, 5 January 2007 (CET)

I agree. I'll put out a note to the ML asking the organisers to place that in the Calendar accordingly. Q·CAEC·MET·POST 20:58, 6 January 2007 (CET)
