Kalisz, a city in Poland that may have been mentioned by Ptolemy in the 2nd century A.D., (but the claim is now doubted by some).
Kalisz is the site of an annual historical event[1] commemorating its history on the "Amber Trail". "There are many artefacts of the Roman times in the area, pointing to the fact that it could have been one of the stops of the Roman caravans heading for the Baltic Sea."[2]
