Consular senator Fl. Vedius Germanicus, pater patriae, is one of the two principal founders of Nova Roma.

Fl. Vedius founded Nova Roma on the 2750th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Rome, along with M. Cassius Iulianus.

In the first year of Nova Roma's existence, he resigned his offices and citizenship on a.d. VII Id. Sept. Fl. Vedio M. Cassio cos. MMDCCLI a.u.c. due to a self-perceived religious conflict, but returned two months later, and was re-appointed to the senate a few months thereafter in L. Equitio Dec. Iunio cos. MMDCCLII a.u.c..

He was appointed dictator by the senate during the First "Civil War" of Nova Roma. Following that he was re-elected to the post of consul and served as proconsul of Provincia Mediatlantica. Shortly after his second term as consul, he resigned his citizenship again in M. Octavio L. Sulla (II) cos. MMDCCLV a.u.c. only to return once more in Cn. Salvio Cn. Equitio cos. MMDCCLVII a.u.c.. He was re-appointed to the senate in Fr. Apulo C. Laenate cos. MMDCCLVIII a.u.c. and was a candidate for consul in K. Buteone Po. Minucia cos. MMDCCLIX a.u.c.. He resigned from the senate again within a few years.

For supporting the fight for saving Nova Roma during the Coup d'état of Caesar and the subsequent Third "Civil War" of Nova Roma, he was awarded with the dignity of "eques equo publico" in Sex. Lucilio C. Claudio P. Annaeo Q. Catulo tr. mil. cos. pot. MMDCCLXX a.u.c..

Vedius was recently adlected again to the senate in Sex. Lucilio (II) A. Tullia (II) cos. MMDCCLXXV a.u.c. by the censors Q. Arrius Nauta and P. Annaeus Constantinus Placidus.
