BIOGRAPHY

In his home country, Australia, D. Aurelius Ingeniarius graduated in P. Ullerio C. Equitio cos. MMDCCLXIV a.u.c. with a bachelor of electrical engineering. This academic study and his current profession is what led to the influence of his name Ingeniarius, meaning engineer, in Latin.

D. Aurelius has always had an interest in history, enjoying subjects and readings from an early age. His interest in Rome specifically didn't eventuate until later. Upon hosting several sessions of a board game called Republic of Rome, a re-release produced by Valley Games in M. Curiatio M. Iulio cos. MMDCCLXII a.u.c., he became intently fascinated with the machinations and mechanics of the Roman Republic political system. His initial ambition was to design and produce a sequel to this game, based on the Roman Imperial period. He commenced detailed study and analysis of the various magistrates and governing legislation, and began noting how he could transform the original game mechanics to suit the new Roman time period. His studies brought him across the Nova Roma website in late C. Claudio T. Domitio (II) cos. MMDCCLXXI a.u.c.. Under a new fascination for Rome and with an appreciation of the comprehensiveness of the Nova Roma society, he registered as a citizen on a.d. III Non. Iun. Q. Arrio P. Annaeo cos. MMDCCLXXII a.u.c..

When he joined Nova Roma, Provincia Australia was considered nearly defunct; the status otherwise unknown. D. Aurelius was determined to identify any other citizens and energize the province. After considerable effort online and local campaigning, the Senate recognized his efforts and assigned him as Legatus Regionis and Praefectus Provinciae Australiae Administrandae, vice Governor for the province, in Oct of Q. Arrio P. Annaeo cos. MMDCCLXXII a.u.c.. Provincia Australia is now considered in high regard among the more active provinces within Nova Roma.

D. Aurelius was honored with his on-going efforts to rejuvenate his province in Oct of Q. Arrio (II) T. Domitio (III) cos. MMDCCLXXIII a.u.c. with an an appointment as Legatus Pro Praetore Australiae. In the Census delivered in Q. Arrio (III) A. Tullia cos. MMDCCLXXIV a.u.c., he was honored again, this time being awarded status as Eques Equo Publico, Equestrian rank as official Public Knight of the Nova Roman Equestrian Order, for:

extraordinary honor and virtue in exemplary public service to Nova Roma and in the Australian province of Nova Roma with utmost loyalty, for outstanding re-organization of civic life and activity in the Nova Roman Provincia Australia, and for recruiting and establishing a new allied legion for Nova Roma.

D. Aurelius is considered an enthusiast, an apt administrator and passionate in all his pursuits within Nova Roma. He spends considerable time on his Nova Roma activities and has demonstrated a dedication and loyalty admired by all citizens.

Presently, D. Aurelius leads as President of an unofficial association called Australia Nova Romana (ANR). He leads this association as Managing Director of the chapter of Nova Roma within Oceania. D. Aurelius is continuing efforts to register the organization as a legal not-for-profit incorporation within the jurisdiction of Australia, an official subsidiary to Nova Roma Inc. ANR has recently been registered with the Australasian Living History Federation (ALHF) to be recognized as an authentic living history society.
