Diana, Moon Goddess and of wild places, the Divine Huntress, protector of women and the Virgin Goddess. In early times, She was the Mother Goddess of Nature. Her temple at Lake Nemi was a sacred grove and was guarded by her priest, Rex Nemorensis, King of the Woods. He always was a fugitive slave entiled food, sanctuary and honor - until be killed by the next candidate. But Diana has many aspects, attributes, names and epithets...

She was associated to Artemis in Greek religion, and later, in Celtic religion to Abnoba and Arduinna. She was known as Diana Caelestis, which means heavenly Diana, Diana Nemorensis in her temple at Nemi, and Diana Tifatina in her temple on Mt. Tifata.
