I just looked at [[Priests (Nova Roma)]] and it is a disaster. Compare it with [[Collegium Pontificum (Nova Roma)]] and you will note that we already have the tables set up elsewhere. All of this needs to be sorted out so that the tables exist in exactly one place. For example, we can include more information about the flaminates in [[Template:Table Flamines]], and then include that whole thing in the Priests page. With a little planning we can create a system that uses [[Template:Global]] and [[Template:GlobalText]] so that we will only have to update this information in one place for all articles and all languages. (You can get an idea of how it works by looking at [[MMDCCLXI]] and [[FR:MMDCCLXI]] et cetera. They all include the magistrate info from one template. [[User:M. I noticed that you changed "praetores" (nom.pl. and acc.pl.) to "praetorii" (dat.sg.) in the "Lex Popillia senatoria" article. I know only a very tiny fraction of the Latin you know, but I am curious: isn't "praetor" third declension masculine? If so, wasn't "praetores" correct, as it was basically being used as the accusative plural in "They shall sublect...praetor[es]"? "Praetorii" being the dative singular, correct? :Salve Ahenobarbe. Permit me to answer for Lentulus. He changed ''praetor, praetoris'' 3rd declention meaning a praetor, to ''praetorius, praetorii'', 2nd declension meaning one who has been praetor. ==Move better than Create and Delete==

Salve Lentule, Looking over the delete requests, I see sometimes a MOVE would have been better than creating a new page and deleting the old one. For example, "Fasti Censorii (Nova Roma)" should have been moved to "Fasti censorii (Nova Roma)". When you use delete and create, you also lose all of the old page history. If you can't do the move yourself, just contact me and I will do it. That is far simpler than using deletes. Also, a MOVE automatically leaves behind a redirect from the old title to the new one, so that links are not broken. He is the adopted son of [[Caeso Fabius Buteo Quintilianus (Nova Roma)|K. Buteo Quintilianus]], the former ''princeps senatus''.

Originally '''C. Cassius Athanasius''', K. Buteo became a citizen of Nova Roma {{May 26}}{{2002}}. He joined because of his interest in the Roman religion. He selected the ''gens Cassia'' because M. Cassius Iulianus was a founder of Nova Roma, and the ''pontifex maximus'' and he thought he could learn from M. Cassius. When Athanasius realized that M. Cassius had very little to offer, he left the patrician order and ''gens Cassia'' and with the permission of censor L. Equitius Cincinnatus he created the plebeian ''gens Modia'' and became ''C. Modius Athanasius''. It was as the name C. Modius Athanasius that he became well known. He had become ''flamen Pomonalis'' towards the end of the year {{2002}} and he had his name change right before the announcement of my appointment as ''flamen''.

{{2002}} he ran for tribune but was not elected. He ran again {{2003}} and was elected and ran for consul in {{2004}} but was not elected. He took the year {{2005}} off from most political activity in Nova Roma, and by this time he was both a ''pontifex'' and an ''augur''.

From the year {{2005}} he had the desire to become ''rex sacrorum''. His former wife, C. Octavia Oceana, had joined Nova Roma and was one of the last citizens to become a patrician upon joining. Being a plebeian he needed to become a patrician. It wasn't likely that he could get ''gens Modia''. Therefore he contacted K. Fabius Buteo Quintilianus and asked Buteo to adopt him into his ''familia''. Modianus says in his blog "I could think of no other citizen in Nova Roma I would want to adopt me."<ref>http://caesobuteo.blogspot.com/ Caeso Buteo's Blog</ref>

K. Buteo Quintilianus and C. Modius Athanasius have had an interesting history. When Athanasius was tribune he vetoed one of Quintilianus' edicts. They disagreed with each other from time to time. However, they always could maintain a respectful relationship agreeing to disagree. Since C. Modius Athanasius' biological father passed away in 2004, the idea of a "Roman adoption" seemed like an honorable thing for him to do. Therefore, {{2005}}, when K. Fabius Buteo Quintilianus adopted C. Modius Athanasius, he became '''C. Fabius Buteo Modianus'''. They had talked about his ''praenomen'' being Caeso, Numerius, or Lucius. Modianus wanted Numerius but according to the laws one had to retain his original ''praenomen'' or to take his adoptive fathers'. Thus he remained Gaius for the time being.

More than a year later, he contacted his adoptive father, and he agreed to his request to share his ''praenomen'', which solution is finally in line with the ''mos maiorum'' and Roman tradition.

In {{2009}}, he was first honored by the Senate who appointed him, on {{Jan 25}}{{2009}}, editor commentariorum, "urging him to resume the edition of Aquila". In the next Spring, he was elected ''censor suffectus'' ({{Jun 17}}) after the resignation of censor [[Gaius Popillius Laenas (Nova Roma)|C. Laenas]]. The tribunician ''intercessio'' by '''Fl. Galerius Aurelianus''' contested this election, but the consuls then considered that the veto was not valid for having exceeded the constitutional powers recognized to the Tribunes of the Plebs. A public controversy arose in the following weeks, on this matter.

Though his family relations with then Consul K. Fabius Buteo Quintilianus could have brought him to join the most decided supporters of the factio which, around his adoptive father and M. Moravius Piscinus, then pontifex maximus, tried to install a dictatorship in the second half of July {{2010}}, Modianus made, specially in Fall {{2010}}, the choice of moderation and promoted a consensual setting of the crisis open with the failure of this attempt. He held a decisive moderating role inside the collegium pontificum, and was one of the main actors of the reconstruction of the religious institutions after the removal of former P.M. Moravius.
On {{Dec 1}}{{2010}}, he was, on the initiative of new P.M. Iulius Sabinus and with the support of Consul Memmius and of the new senatorial majority, appointed as the first ''rex sacrorum'' of Nova Roma by the ''Collegium Pontificum''. While his adoptive father left Nova Roma the day before, K. Fabius Buteo Modianus entered in his religious dignity on {{Jan 1}}{{2011}}.

When L. Cornelius returned from years of absence, he was allowed to join the senate mailing list. He took this to mean he was back in the senate, when in reality he was not in the senate, merely granted the privilege of voting in the senate by virtue of his Consular and Censorial status. When it was realized that he wasn't actually in the senate, he had a lawyer send a message threatening litigation if he wasn't put back in the senate. Censors gave in to the demands, and gave L. Born in Oberlin, OH in 1979, I've lived in many states as an army brat. After graduating high school I joined the Army and was in for 3 yrs stationed in Hawaii. I moved to MA and joined Nova Roma in 2003, with the roman name Annia Minucia Sempronia which eventually changed to Annia Minucia Marcella to comply with the naming rules. I moved to Texas and then Florida following the birth of my daughter. Eventually I moved back to MA in 2006 and held the title of Legata Pro Praetore(governor) of Nova Britannia. In the fall of 2008, I moved to Mediatlantica. I was also appointed to the Senate at that time.

I have resigned my citizenship and all positions as of February 27, 2009 due to the treasonous acts of L. Cornelius Sulla Felix who attempted to bring down Nova Roma through threats of lawsuit unless he was expeditiously reinstated in the senate(extortion attempt). The very fact that the censors and senate gave in to these threats made me ashamed to be apart of such an organization that could so easily cow tow to a bully and traitor as L. Cornelius Sulla Felix. And until such time that this odious character is removed from the organization, I will never seek to come back to Nova Roma.

Senatrix Equestria Iunia Laeca has been commended on her service to Nova Roma with a certificate from the province, to be given to her this month.

The Province of Nova Britannia has been more active this year than previous years. We've completed a few projects planned since last year, such as the Provincial T-shirts(Link) and we've completed a new brochure to place in libraries and colleges advertising our province. We've also come up with a new project to affiliate ourselves with Amazon.com by having a "Recommended Reading" Section on our provincial website(Books). Our new Provincial Forums are up and running as well. We have initiated a project to obtain a handmade provincial flag. There is also a workshop scheduled in Connecticut for Feb 21st 2009 to teach our members how to make roman tunics and leather pouches.

Senatrix Equestria Iunia Laeca has been commended on her service to Nova Roma with a certificate from the province, to be given to her this month.

We've held 2 Provincial Meetings this year in the Regios Connecticut and Massachusetts. I've appointed new Legates for the Regios Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. We are still without a Legate for Maine. The next meeting is scheduled to occur next March.

The Boston Area Classics Calendar is hosted by Harvard University and is a comprehensive calendar of scholarly lectures which are open to the public throughout the province.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is currently featuring "Art and Empire: Treasures from Assyria in the British Museum." The MFA has a large collection called "Art of the Ancient World" and their website has been expanded to include an interactive online tour of the museum's Roman collection.

This August there was a gathering at my house of members of my familia and a scattering of other citizens from throughout the province, the first such gathering in this regio for several years at least. I would characterize it as a success, though driving rain kept the gathering inside and Roman clothing packed.

I continue to look for another regio official in the Burlington area, where most people in Vermont are located, as I live in a sparsely populated portion of the state (250 people in my town). There are several colleges with classics programs over there that would be ripe for recruits, but the only problem with college students is they are transitory and soon to leave the state.

I am talking over Nova Roma with some Latin teachers in the area, one of whom has a pretty complete legionary kit, despite not being in a reenactment legion.

My fiancee, Gaia Valeria Pulchra, became a citizen. That brings my count of known citizens to 3.

So far I have no budgetary requests and no planned major events for the Regio. I do intend to stay active, my wife intends to become Assidua next year and become more active in Nova Roma, and I intend to try to recruit others.

The '''Praetorium''' is the government of Provincia Nova
Britannia. It consists of the governor (the title of
the governor will vary) and his or her appointed
assistant and advisors. The governor is responsible to
the Senate - the Senate appoints the governor of every
province and can remove any governor before their term
has expired. The procurator is usually the
government's financial officer, similar to a quaestor.
A Legatus (in most instances in Nova Roma) is the
governor's representative in a sub-territory or regio.
The propraetor also issues on various matters
concerning his or her province.
