Pater Patriae (Nova Roma)

The Latin title Pater Patriae means "father of his country". In the early Roman Empire, it was applied to Augustus and others.

In Nova Roma, the title of Pater Patriae was awarded by the Senate in M. Octavio L. Sulla (II) cos. ‡ MMDCCLV a.u.c. to the two principal founders, Marcus Cassius Iulianus and Flavius Vedius Germanicus. Both subsequently added it to their customary email signatures.
