Well I suppose you could be right, but your'e not!!! I who bear the
Coveted Green Banner of Victory should be jealus of a mere woman who
smears herself with Blue mud!!!!! Faugh!!!! If you were not so
rediculously amusing, you could make someone ill--Perhaps a delicate
White!!!!

The Green Clan will sweep to Victory and no bragging is needed for that
assurance just common sense!!!!! GREEN to the Fore!! GREEN, the Banner

Merlina, I hate to be the one to tell you this , but if your horses are
fed on grass, don't bother bringing them as all the Green Teams are fed
on Grain in order to be strong and fleet to capture the WIN!!!!!!
Don't feel too bad though as a mere woman cannot be expected to realize
such!! If your horses kick up clods of GREEN, I am not sure where you
are racing, but it is not a chariot track, Perhaps you have mistaken a
women's little mare for a Chariot Horse, and the little mares are kickng
up clumps of grass as they gambol along the grass -lined path behind
your little house????? Lastly, my dear, there is no such creature as an
undefeated woman. Take a Man's advice and limit your Blue to pretty
violets which you may wave as the GREEN Winner goes by!!!!!!

Salve Marcus Minucius Audens,

A very good question. First off, please remember this is just one event in
the Cerialia celebration. Although, don't think just because one doesn't
have a scanner they cannot participate. Computer generated images are
welcomed and encouraged. Many free graphic programs can be downloaded off
the internet, and many are of a higher quality than the common "paint"
program.

The contest opened in March and you have until the 16th to send in your
work. So therefore you can send it in anytime before the deadline on the
16th. My apologies if before I was not very clear on this issue.

> Also, I didn't find the link on the page with which to send.

You need to click the "games" link. There you will find a listing with all
the games currently planed. On of this page you will also find a link to the
art contest. Go there and you will see all the detailed information
concerning the contest.

I do believe our dear Senator is 'cutting to the quick' here
(grin)!!!!

We'll if he shows up at some event you're cooking at, you'll just
have to 'remember' these remarks when you are serving up your fine
Roman Quisine, now won't you?
" A woman's little mare!!!!?????........Indeed?"

Hmm.....

Yunno, Merlina, I could have sworn that I read somewhere in a popular
Holy Book: "wrath hath no fury, save a woman's scorn"....

Date: Sat, 6 Apr 2002 16:54:27 +0200
Francsicus Apulus Caesar Omnibus S.P.D.

The Megaledia Ludi are festivals in honor of Magna Mater (Cybele), mother of
the Gods.
This day, April 6, 2755, is dedicated to the religious celebrations of our
Goddess and all the citizens are invited to do own rituals.

I give you just some of the religious rituals in honor of Magna Mater.

At http://italia.novaroma.org/cohoraedilis/ludi/megalesia/magnamater.htm you
can find the full istructions about the rites written by the Illustrus
Pontifex Pontifex Antonius Gryllus Graecus.

1) Before the Lararium (the presence of a statue or picture of Magna Mater
on the Lararium is recommended, so that the 'paterfamilias' can see goddess
while performing the offering), the 'paterfamilias' starts the ritual
addressing Magna Mater...

2) The 'paterfamilias' washes his hands. An assistant can carry the water
vessel and the towel, otherwise these items should be placed near/behind the
'paterfamilias' before the ritual starts, in order that the ritual is not
interrupted...

3) The 'paterfamilias' takes the recipient with the salad, and while placing
it before the Lararium or image of Magna Mater he says ...

4) The ritual can be concluded with a prayer. If more people are present
such as your family or other people you have invited to witness the ritual
(e.g. people you have invited to have a 'mutitatio' dinner in your home!!),
they can all participate by saying the prayer in chorus ...

To be continue at
http://italia.novaroma.org/cohoraedilis/ludi/megalesia/magnamater.htm

Valete and Magna mater would protect Nova Roma and all of you!

Salve Senator Pompeia Cornelia,

All images somehow related to Ceres, the Cerialia, or the spring season are
accepted. However, the image must be your own creation.

For the details of the contest you can go to the Cerialia web site at:

http://www25.brinkster.com/canorien/cerialia/

Go to the games link. There you will find all the regulations and fine
details of the contest.
