Many interesting updating in my site: about chronological conception of the
mankind development according to source in latin, about umperfection of the
existing chronology conception and ways of it's improvement.

Subject: [novaroma] Academia Thules
From: Caius Curius Saturninus <insulaumbra@fiasco.fi>

Salvete Quirites!

It is my pleasure to announce to you that the Academia Thules's first
course will start on Monday 28th of January in the capable hands of
our praeceptor (teacher) Titus Labienus Fortunatus. The course is
about Nova Roma, what it is, how it works and what one can do as a
citizen.

So, Nova Romans, as a procurator of Academia I have the priviledge to
see the student subscriptions, and there's some wonderful news I want
to share with all of you now.

Firstly, we had taken in 32 subscriptions to the Basic Course about
Nova Roma, until we were forced to stop accepting any further ones,
as that is as much as we can handle on this course. Secondly, the
subscriptions showed a great variety of citizens, ranging from the
age of 18 trough to 53 years, and we have a pleasure to have some
well known citizens, even a senator, on the course, but also students
who subscribed with a message attached "I am new to Nova Roma, thank
you so much for offering this course".

Looking at the statistics of the subscribed citizens, it is obvious
that there is a demand for this kind of a course, and we in the
Academia are very happy to provide it not only this once, but it is
my pleasure to announce here today, that we will arrange this course
a second time later on this year to meet this demand. And, we are
taking the subscriptions in straight away!

When I was given the honour to be responsible of developing the
Academia by my province's very dedicated and hard-working propraetor,
Caeso Fabius Quintilianus, in the Spring of 2001, little did I know
that it would become such an immidiate success!

Then some words about the future of the Academia: We are currently
planning for more courses for years 2002 and 2003. We have had many
interesting proposals from different citizens about what courses to
arrange, and some courses we had already started planning in the
Autumn. In 2002-2003 we are going to arrange at least the following
courses: 3 courses about Roman philosophy, 3 courses about Roman
history, 2-3 courses of Religio Romana and some other courses to be
announced later.

We are also starting to develop our first course lines, a series of
courses that will provide the student (properly passed all of them)
an academic degree. About these lines of studying more information
will be published later on this Spring.

For the following courses we start taking in subscriptions today, and
more detailed information will be published about them within a few
weeks time:

The Basic Course about Roman History I
The Basic Course about Roman Philosophy I
The Basic Course about Religio Romana I

And last, I want to thank all the Academia personnel for their
dedicated and really wonderful work so far:
Caeso Fabius Quintilianus for giving all of us this opportunity and
being himself the wise and far seeing leader, Gnaeus Salix Astur for
hard work both in Academia tresviri and as Scriba ad Res Externas and
in many other fields, Gaius Rubellius Rufus for his work in tresviri,
Caius Cornelius Puteanus for outstanding work in developing our
future courses and last but not in any way least, Emilia Curia
Finnica for her work as webmaster and for the personal support and
encouragement she has given me in these months of building the
Academia. I want to thank also our Praeceptor for working hard
planning the first course and all the students subscribed to the
courses so far.

Valete,

Caius Curius Saturninus
