Salve Marcus Minucius Audens,

I thought you might be interested in a link I found not to long ago. This
site has a nice picture of a Roman wax tablet on display in a museum. This
site also has many other very nice pictures of items found in Roman homes.
http://wings.buffalo.edu/AandL/Maecenas/rome/roman_house/mcxx0024.html

I am in the process of making a few wax tablets for my local SCA group, to
put in their prize box. I found this instructional site about making such
tablets and the stylus that goes with it.

Maximo cum gaudio... no, let me start again; that sounds like an encyclical letter.

With great joy I read the news about our steemed Draco's return, allthough the circumstances of its announcement were not so pleasing. I hope Marcus Octavius Solaris can enjoy the independance of his being a privatus and continue to give his contribution to help NR to reach her cultural and social goals.

From: Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix <alexious@earthlink.net>

Avete Omnes,

It is my pleasure to announce a new email list for Nova Roman
Magistrates (Provincial Governors and central administration) including
any Senator interested. This list is called
NR_Magistrates@yahoogroups.com.

The purpose of this list is quite simple. To maintain a free flow of
communication between magistrates up and down the hiearchy. Via this
list we could discuss potential laws, bounce ideas off, preview edicts
to prevent any conflicts, there is in my opinion great potential for
this list.

I hope that all magistrates who are currently surving Nova Roma would
subscribe to this list. If you would like me to add you please message
me privately.

Very Respectfully submitted,

Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix
Consul of Nova Roma

I dunno; I don't want to come accross as sounding condescending or
overly orthodox, but I figure if people go to the cista and vote you
in as their magistrate, or you are appointed to a position in which
people are vesting their confidence in you, it is not alot of
reciprocal trouble to locate the oath, and retype it.

It is like *saying* it, this way, to me.

I wrote out my oaths as Propraetrix/Praetor, for the reason that it
provided a means of reflecting on the oath as I wrote; then I typed it
and sent it off.

These are my thoughts, and I don't mean to impinge on others'
preferences.
