I know of a very good site that has maps of Europe from the year 1 AD
to the 17th century I believe. The maps are large however, but quite
detailed. They even state which Germanic tribes where in what areas and are
quite interesting. Glad I could help! Vale! <A HREF="http://www.euratlas.com/summary.htm">ATLAS HISTORIQUE</A> (in english)

Salvete Quirites
I have a question since i became a Scriba for Tiberius
Apollonius Cicatrix. I saw the oaths from other
Scribae and i want to ask if all scribae have to write
the oath for Scriba. First i thought i didn't had to
do it, since i didn't see it, but now i'm not sure.

According to the new Lex Cassia Iunia de Iusiurando, all magistrates, whether
elected or appointed, must take the oath. Scribae are magistrates, so you
should take the oath as well.

Since the Pilum is free, we only have to give credit to the publication, and
the author.
We are making no profit from their labor, so acknowledgement of the publisher
and author is all that is needed.

Please see below message and instructions I have just received from Janet Gilbert. This unfortunately is not a hoax and I have just had to go to my 'C' drive and delete the virus programme.

If you follow Janet's instructions - very easy as I have managed to do it - the virus will be deleted.

Obviously I am very sorry about this, as I know Janet is, but at least we have discovered it in time.

Not a nice message to receive at this time of goodwill but hopefully you will all manage to destroy it in time.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Regards.........Doreen

======================================================================================================================

I have recently received a nasty dormant virus via someones address book. However the good news is that if you have received it too, its easy to get rid of. If you leave it, I am told that aftger 14 days it will activiate and crash your hard drive. I did not open it and found out after I received an e-mail from a colleague. It is reputed to spread from address book to address book and as you are on my address book I am sending this to you.

Please act now to check your machine as follows;-

1 Go to the start menu - click on find or search.

2 In the search for files or folders type in sulfnbk.exe. This is the virus

3 Make sure you are searching your C drive

4 Hit the search or find now button

5 If the file shows up - it is an ugly balck icon with the above namedc title - DO NOT OPEN IT.

6 Right mouse click on the file icon, then go down and left click on delete

7 It will say it is a programme and ask if you want to send it to the recycle bin - click YES

8 Go to your desktop and double click on the recycle bin

9 Right click on the ugly black icon and again DELETE. That will get rid of it for you. But if you have found it PLEASE send this on to others in your address book, to prevent further damage.
