Uxbridge Mass, is a small town in Southeastern Mass. just off Route 146.
It is fairly simpe to come at from the south or west, but the Atlas
indicates that from the North it ay be a little more difficult in that
there is no exit off I-90 onto Rte 146. It appears that the easiest way
would be to take I-90 from Springfield to the I-395 exit, go south on
I-395 to the Oxford / West Sutton Exit, and take the West Sutton Road
across to Rte 146 at Fisherville, and then South on Rte 146 to Uxbridge.
I will provide detailed information to the Quaker Inn Motel from there..
I sincerely hope that you can make it, as it would be a real pleasure to
meet you..

I believe that Cassius and Cassia are planning to attend, as well as
Ovidia Luna,, Gaius Marius Merrullus and Family and myself at this point
all others interested in NR are of course welcome. This is tenatively
set for the weekend of 11-12 December. Ovidia Luna and I will be
commuting to our places of residence for the evening hours, but will be
there for Saturday and Sunday. The planned program centers around
meeting each other on Saturday Morning between 10:00 and 12:00, and
having Lunch together locally or a picnic spread at the Motel. The
Motel has a room that can be used for meetings and get-togethers. After
luch perhaps we could meeti the meeting room and discuss Nova Roma, as
well as some items for consideration that Merrullus and I have to show
everyone. One of the things that Iwould like to discuss is NR
advertising / recruiting in the NE (who, what, where, why, when and
how), as well as new ideas for the Eagle and additional NR publication
ideas.. The combination of ideas could be then compiled ad put into the
Eagle as a supplement for everyone's use. Merrullus and I have some
ideas regarding Cerificates that we would like to share as well. The
discussion agenda is of course open to any additonal ideas that anyone
might have.

The information for the place that we are planning to meet is as

responsbility for that task. If yo have any further questions please do

Salvete, Citizens of Nova Roma;

As I promised some time ago, I now present you with the proposed NR
Budget which is to be placed before the Senate for informal debate
sometime in the next day or so. The budget as it is formulated, has
taken into account all of the current expenses that are apparent in Nova
Roma as well as some expenses which are approximated to the best of my
ability by those who know most about them.

Since I do not have the ability to correct the Budget as previously
written and since it is too long to convieniently retype in it's
entirity, The below corrections are made to the forwarded budget. These
corrections were a last minute addition and just approved today for
inclusion by Consul Palladius. I thank you for your patience in waiting
for this Budget and I herein present it to you with correstions in
total:

Correction Notice:

Coinage--Two sided die for a coin would cost $600 and to create a base
run of 5,000 coins would cost $1000 even. That gives us a firm price of
$1600 plus shipping costs which would be approximately $30.00

Note:---This above proposal will provide Nova Roma with a die that could
be used for successive mintings, and 5,000 coins stamped in bronze.
Factoring in the cost of the die with the first run of coins, NR would
be paying $.32 per coin. A good profit could be made by sellng the
coins at even $.50 apiece and an additional minting would leave us at a
total cost of only $.20 per coin.

Flags-- Fifty Flags have been ordered at $6.50 apiece, fr a total of
$325. A member of Nova Roma (Cassius Julianus) is fronting the money
since the transaction was made prior to Budget presentattion.

Note --- Both of the above items were recieved and approved for
inclusion in the Budget jst today .

Please insert the above items under the area in the budget labeleb Past
Businesses and adjus the totals for the NR Budget in order to determine
the new tota Budget cost for this proposed Sytrawman Budget #4

Very Respectfully;;
Marcus Minucius Audens
Praetor et Senator

To; Consuls;

Salvete, Honored Consuls;

Sirs: I beg leave to place before you the subject document for your
consideration an review, Your remarks, your corrections and your
comments are equally welcome. I realize that this report has been a
long time coming, but in retrospect was one of the few considerations
that survived the Dictatorship, that did not enjoy the attention of the
Dictator. In addition the Quaestors input has bee somewhat limited as
was the input from Marcus Cassius Julianus in regard to the needs of the
Equestor Ordo. In consequece some of the sums stated (and so marked)
are my own estimates.

The Budget Strawman#4:

Annual NR Projected Costs:

--Internet Cost=$9.95 monthly=$119.40 Annually;

--Post Office Box=$12.00 Annually (See note
#1)

--NR Fund Raising Costs=$200 Annually (See note #2)

--Cuurent Annual NR Costs--$331.40

--Eagle Income / Costs;
=Income--Present 55 subscribers times
$12,00--$660.00--Annual Income (See Note #3);

=Cost per Issue--Printing-Eight pages B &
W--Monthly--$24.00--Printing Cost Annual--$288.00

--Postage Cost--
#49-copies at $.39---$19.11;
#6-copies to England---$5.00;
--Sub Total--Monthly---$24.11
--Sub Total Annual---$289.32

Annual Projected Revenues:

--Eagle subscriptions-increase by 5% by year 2001--($33.00-JLM);

--Amazon Book--$50.00 Annual Projection (JLM);

--Stamp Business--$25.00 Annual Projection (JLM);

--Papyrus Copy Business--$10.00 Annual Projection (JLM);

--Mead Manual--$50.00 Annual Projection (JLM);

Business suggestions that have not materialized or have disappeared from
the Ordo Equestor:

--Flag Business;

--Ball Cap Business;

--T-Shirt Business;

--Orbiana's Book Store;

Projected loss of possible revenue since the issue of Budget Strawman
#3--$540.00

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Proposed allocation of funds over and above the Nova Roma Expenses:

Once the outstanding debts are paid, the remaining funds can be
distributed among the following or similar categories as shall be
decided by the Senior Magistrates:

Investments--45% (curret projects / new proposals / investment funds);

Advertisement--3% (magazine, Radio, TV, Newspaper and Fliers);

Land / Real Property--10% (Roman Gathering Place);

Legal--10% (Incorporation / international fees, etc.);

Miscellaneous--5% (hidden costs).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Notes:---------

Note #1----Since Patricia Cassia also uses the above mail box for
personal mail, she is currently carrying the entire cost of the mail
box. See Recommenation #1;

Note #2----Originally, the idea of this item of funding was to be used
was to be used to assist members of the Ordo Equestor in establishing
businesses. My impression and my suggestion that if the item is
retained it be on a loan basis with minimal interest. The Ordo Equestor
needs some assistance and or encouragement;

Note #3----The $12.00 funding rate will not be complete for
approximately another 18 months, at which time the funding for the Eagle
should be in good shape, ad NR may consider reducing the cost or
combining the cost of the newsletter with the cost of any future taxes
decided upon.. Each additional single page costs $.20, ad there will be
a need for 5 extra copies of the newsletter to use for advertisement and
for postal replacement

Note #4----There is still an outstanding debt to Marcus Cassius Julianus
for two rolls of stamps (100 stamps-$33.00) that were used in the early
days of the newsletter. It is the only firm record of a previous debt
that I have;

Note #5-----"I should hope to build up a base inventory of manuals and
booklets, which I would then offer through the Macellum--Venator;
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Recommedations:---------

Recommendation #1--Consider slitting the annual fee with Patricia
Cassia and pay one half of the annual bill;

Recommendation #2--thhat the funding established by and for the Eagle
fees be continued until a balance between the old fees and the new fees
is reached. That the nova Roma Publshing fund be a self-perpetuating
fund,, under the review and care of the Financial Quaestor and should
not be used for any other purpose or financial effort. It's purpose is
to allow the Eagle to expand naturally and to develop a modest surplus
that can be used in the futre to defray the costs of publishing a book
or pamphlet (G.D. Domitianus)

Reommendation #3--Marcus Cassius Julianus has been extremely helpful in
the printing and submitting iformation for use in the Eagle. He has to
date saved the Eagle one month of printing plus the return postage of
the printed materials plus two extra B & W pages over and above my
original proofs which was very much appreciated. It is recognized tht a
portion of these debts be returned to him together with a recognition of
his continung services.

Comments-----------------

Comment #1---Our investment contracts will be a major expense at first
but then they can not only be expected to hold thier own, bu to turn a
profit in a reasonable amount of time They will be self sufficient. It
may be tht some of these projects will have to be changed along the way,
but any profits can go toward re-investments in other opportunities for
us and in time will contribute to other social needs---Far Future!!!!
(G.D. Domitianus)

Comment #2---Esablishing an Advertising fund is also extremely
important. The overwhelming majority of people in the world do not even
know that we exist -- to put it mildly. More citizens mean more of
everything tht the organization wishes to build upon, including
revenues.

The Budget Strawman #4 is now complete with it's attendant Notes,
Recommendations, and Comments. if orward this document for your review
and correction as you see fit. I respectfully request thatwhen you have
reviewed this document tht this rough document should be released to the
Citizens for thier consideration and comments as I have promised in the
past.

It is my intent to announce to the NR citizens that I have completed
this Strawman as this is necessary for my campaign. I do not wish to
give Fabius a reason to bring up unfinised business..
