Salve amici!

We will be very glad if she joins us. Personally I think that black skin
is beautiful. More beautiful than all this milky whiteness I have throughout
all of my body. =)

Vale!

Antonius Gryllus Graecus
(Praetor ad Lusitaniam Provinciam)

P.S. In my city of Ulissipus (Lisbon) maybe there are nowadays more black
people than white.

I suggest we entreat Mercurius, who governs communications, what his
opinion is about our 'chat' problem. I understand that his Oracle (the
sybil Netscapia Exploria) has solemnly pronounced the following:
"BeSeen sucks."

Mercurius has little patience with slow refresh rates.

The deadline for the October Eagle is Sat. Oct 10. Please get your
articles, book reviews, Letters to the Editor, Roman-oriented photos or
art, or anything else you feel should go into the Eagle to me. E-mail it
to m--------oon@-------- --------ext-only format (no l--------breaks). For some
odd reason, though I have MS Word 7.0, documents sent in Word or with
fancy formatting seem to come through with paragraph marks at the end of
EACH LINE, which I have to take out manually. A pain in the podex.
Please keep stuff to about 500 words.
And whoever sent the article titled "De Religio" for the last issue,
please re-send it! It came through only partially!

I'll go you one better: If I can get there on a 386 running the last
non-Frames-capable Win3.1 version of Mosaic, I'll be on it like a
crazed weasel!!

It's $5 U.S. for a year's subscription. There's a printable form on the
NR Website -- return the form with your check or money order. Thanks!

Why certainly. In MS Word (and in most other word processors) there's a
"save as" command, usually in the "file" drop-down menu. Use this
instead of "save" when you've finished writing. When you choose "save
as," you'll get a box at the bottom, under the "file name" that says,
"Save as file type" and has a scroll arrow. Click on the arrow and
choose "text only no line breaks," which will save your file as
"whateveritsnameis.txt" It may also say "plain text (.txt)" What you
want is the .txt extension after the file name. It may also say save as
"ASCII."

Usually, the only formatting that comes through are the tabs. So don't
even waste your time with italics, bold, nifty fonts or anything.
