Subject: the experiment

This is an experiment. I hope it will seem interesting enough to you to
make you want to participate. Email messages fly to and fro, all over
the world. Lots of jokes, cute sayings, etc. seem to take on a life of
their own as they get forwarded to more and more email addresses. I've
often thought that it is too bad we can't see where these well-traveled
messages have been. I'll bet we'd be amazed at the list of addresses
some have visited.
There is a way to find out. Just add your first name, location, date
and maybe a very short comment to the bottom of this message and send it
out to your list of email friends. Eventually it may return to you. If
it does, you'll be able to see all the places it has been since it first
left your computer. (Cut and paste - keep it tidy.)

I've looked at it, but since the author also wrote "Thornbirds," I was
hesitant
about reading it. I wanted to read some others first. But, from what I've
heard here, it's not the same. So, I'll add it to my list.

It is statements like this that made you the "bad guy". No one personally
attacked you or your beliefs until you began condescending remarks towards us
(i.e. "if worshipers of Apollo don't believe their religion worthy of
sharing..." etc.).

I for one do not wish to see you leave Nova Roma because you may have resented
some defensive remarks or feel you did not win your point, but I believe our
goal(s) were clearly presented on the webpage that I believe must have
prompted your application for citizenship. And our notion of re-establishing
the Religio Roman (or "superstition" as you so put it) has not been hidden or
down-played anywhere on the website or in discussion but has always been a
real endeavor for us here.

If you still wish to relieve us of your citizenship, then I wish you well on

I was going to send that out with the big magistrate vote in December (when,
hopefully, the centuries will actually vote according to majorities within
them). Does the number of your century really matter at this stage? Same
thing with your tribe in the comitia plebis and populi; it really hasn't
been relevant up until now. I could send a private email to everyone in Nova
Roma telling them their century and tribes, I suppose, but why? I'd just
have to send it out again in November...

My new name is:
Augustina Iulia Caesaria

I'm the second Gens. from Britain, well so I've been informed.

Salvete,

Well, it seems that Rafi is 'out of danger' (I told his mother he wasn't
really 'in' danger, but she is a worryer -- I can relate sometimes). He
has spend the better part of today trying to pull the leads from his
chest and doing his best to get out of there. He will be sent home
tomorrow night.

Terre is just fine. Neither of us is showing signs of anything. At
least that part of our lives is boring :-).

Thanks again to all who sent prayers or did rituals, or whatever on Rafis
behalf.

Well honey, if yer gonna get yer knickers in a twist over what other
people do in bed, you might as well grab yer ruby slippers and get the
heck outta Oz. I always sez.

I received my copy of the Eagle today and it looks GREAT. Color,
nice layout, I'm impressed.
I've always believed that great things come from small beginnings. So,
I leave you all with my favorite quote from Vergil," They are able because
they think they are able."

Oooh, does this mean we can count on you for an article???
My thanks to Patricia Cassia, Link, Flavia Gladia, and M. Gladius Saevus
(who had the Latin Joke of the Month!). All of you did excellent jobs!

And thank you, Cincinnatus, for your kind words.
